Founded by San Holo in 2014 out of a need for more creative freedom, bitbird is a Dutch independent record label focused on showcasing the sounds of the future in electronic music and beyond. From Future Bass to Indie, from Neoclassical to Deep House, bitbird transcends genres by balancing the commercial and experimental while pushing boundaries to amplify the art they believe in.
Coming up as a future bass producer in the Soundcloud era, San’s unique style and honest approach to songwriting has earned him a loyal following that supported his independent debut album, cementing the artist as a star in a league all his own, while earning the praise of critics and peers from rock icons like Rivers Cuomo and Tom Morello to producers like Porter Robinson.
San Holo’s recent single ‘All The Highs’ was featured on FIFA 2023’s official soundtrack and received strong support across digital platforms upon release including Spotify’s New Music Friday and #1 on Apple Music’s Breaking Dance.
But there’s much more to bitbird than the brilliance of San Holo. Take electronica duo TWO LANES, who blend acoustic piano recordings with analog synthesizers and minimal beat elements to create their signature sound, ranging from neoclassical, ambient and melodic techno.
Analogue Dear, with indie and electronic influences, is defined characteristically by beautiful piano chords and vocal melodies. Notable recent releases include ‘Faulkner Heroine’ and his 2018 collaboration ‘Rivulets’ with accomplished math rock guitarist Yvette Young.
Gavin Brivik studied contemporary classical and electronic music composition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he combined his roots as an indie rock and folk guitarist with orchestral and electronic instruments. Brivik’s credits include the 90th Academy Award-nominated short, My Nephew Emmett; Netflix’s Emmy-nominated original series Living Undocumented, produced by Selena Gomez; Netflix/Blumhouse Productions’ Cam, which premiered at Fantasia Film Festival in 2018, starring Madeline Brewer; as well as numerous narrative and documentary short films.
DROELOE is the three dimensional audiovisual project of Dutch electronic producer Vincent Rooijers. DROELOE combines future bass and electronic music with graphic design and video art. Ever since the release of first single ‘ZzZ’, DROELOE’s music has been experienced by millions, on festivals like Coachella, Tomorowland, but also through his remixes of tracks by Selena Gomez, Charlie Puth and Charli XCX.
